First Flush from Millikthong Tea Estate
The first spring harvest from the Millikthong garden, which stretches across the slopes of the Himalayan foothills south of the town of Mirik at an altitude of 500 to 1,400 meters. The leaves come from younger bushes of the AV-2 cultivar, which gives the tea a unique fruity citrus aroma. The tea has long, unbroken leaves that are only slightly rolled lengthwise and slightly oxidized, with a rich, smooth, sweet nectar flavor with a colorful palette of spring flowers, meadow herbs, and citrus. Long sweet, floral aftertaste without the slightest astringency.
How to brew Darjeeling Millikthong
Use 5 grams of tea leaves for 0.5 litre of boiling water cooled to 85-90 °C, steep for 2–3 minutes. Feel free to experiment with steeping time, water temperature, and the amount of tea leaves. You can also read our articles on tea preparation and water quality.
