Traditional ceramic matcha jar with a bone-in lid, presented in a fabric pouch (Shifuku). Purchased at a market in Kyoto. Origin and age unknown.

Tenmoku glaze is named after the Chinese mountain Tien Mu (Eye of Heaven). It is characterized by its "rabbit fur" coloring and "oil spots."
